Lafayette Hotel to host Community Resource Fair Sunday | News, Sports, Jobs

MARIETTA — The Community Resource Fair will have something for everyone from 1-4 pm Sunday at the Lafayette Hotel in Marietta.

The fair will feature about 40 organizations that represent a multitude of services and resources in the area, said Heather Arnold, founder and director of GoPacks of Marietta and the main organizer of the fair.

“Of all that we have here, people may not be really know about,” she said.

A variety of organizations providing different services will be available with informational exhibits.

Diversity was key to interest all age groups, according to Arnold. Groups will represent food, parenting, disabilities, children and youth services, mental health, basic needs, finances, senior service and education, among others.

Among the participants are the local colleges and health departments, Arnold said.

Groups are:

* Building Bridges to Careers, children-youth

* Boys & Girls Club of Washington County, children-youth

* The Ely Chapman Education Foundation & The Ely Chapman Learning Center, children-youth

It’s possible there will be music from the River City Symphony Orchestra, Arnold said.

Most of the exhibits will be in the hotel ballroom, she said. Some will be outside, such as the veggie wagon and the Bookmobile, Arnold said.

Admission is free, she said. Participation by agencies and organizations is also free.
