Sod Poodles set for second week of road trip against Corpus Christi

There is less than one month remaining in the season.

The Amarillo Sod Poodles are set to slide into their second straight week on the road to challenge the Corpus Christi Hooks in the third head-to-head series of the year.

The Soddies are coming off of a 4-1 week in Midland where they outscored the RockHounds 27-18 and had one game canceled due to inclement weather.

Amarillo shortstop Blaze Alexander is currently one of the hottest-hitting players on the team, getting a seven-game hitting streak broken up Sunday. Through 66 games in Double-A, he is hitting .298 with 11 home runs, 36 RBI and 32 runs scored.

Infielder Drew Stankiewicz was promoted to Triple-A Reno over the weekend after hitting at a .233 clip with 17 doubles, 13 home runs and 54 RBI.
