It’s not uncommon for things to periodically close in Disney World.
Sometimes rides temporarily close because they malfunction or need to be cleaned, and then there’s longer, planned closures for things like renovations (like Blizzard Beach, which has been undergoing renovation for months). When amenities or attractions need to close for refurbishment, Disney usually announces it on its website, which is how we found out about three Disney World hotel pools that will be temporarily closing in 2024.
2024 may still seem far away, but if you’re planning a Disney World vacation, it’s important to have all the information you can! Three Disney World hotels will see the temporary closure of their “feature” pools, which is the term Disney uses for the hotel’s biggest, main pool. Let’s take a look at which pools are closing! First up is the fantasy pool at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.
During the closure, guests will be able to swim at the other hotel pool, the Duck Pond Pool located in The Mighty Ducks section of the hotel.
Next up is the Fuentes del Morro pool at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort. This pool has a pirate theme complete with slides and a water play area. During the closure, guests will be able to swim in one of five other leisure pools at the hotel. Leisure pools usually don’t have slides and are lighter on theming than the feature pool.
And the third pool that will be closed is the Doubloon Lagoon pool at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter. This pool is themed to look like Mardi Gras and even has a giant snake slide along with a band comprised of alligators. During the pool’s closure, guests can use the pool at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside, which is right next door.
Each of these pools will be closed from January to April 2024.
