Robbinsville, NJ – Wilbert Normand Killed in Double Tractor-Trailer Collision on NJ Tpk

Robbinsville, NJ (May 11, 2022) – State police confirmed that a truck operator from Delaware was killed in a collision on the New Jersey Turnpike, on Tuesday, May 10th.

At about 2:30 pm, 50-year-old Wilbert Normand was driving a Western Star tractor hauling a flatbed trailer in the southbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike in Robbinsville when his truck and a Kenworth tractor-trailer collided with one another in the area of ​​mile marker 59.9.

The force of the impact pushed the Western Star into the righthand concrete barrier and the lefthand guardrail, causing a load of sheetrock on its trailer to come dislodged and spill across part of the roadway.

Normand, a resident of Wilmington, DE., died at the scene.

The condition of the other truck operator is unknown.

This crash is under investigation.
