Athlete’s triumphs late

PORT ANGELES — Athlete’s Choice outlasted First Federal 12-7 in a three-hour-plus Olympic Junior Babe Ruth contest Monday night at Volunteer Field.

Josiah Gooding went 3-for-3 and Kody Williams was 3-for-6 to pace an Athlete’s offense that pounded out 13 hits.

Andrew Hunter made his OJBR debut, tossing a little less than three innings, Andre Campbell added a couple of innings on the hill, and Gooding closed out the game by striking out eight over three innings.

First Federal’s Cameron Colfax sent the game to extra innings with a game-tying hit, but Athlete’s Choice responded with a five-run eighth.
