18/4/2022 Horse Racing Tips and Best Bets – Warwick Farm, Easter Monday races

Warwick Farm will play host to an eight event Easter Monday program this week. The weather is fine, the track is heavy (10) and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.

Race 1. (12:35) Hyland Race Colors Mdn Hcp 1400m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

6 Tavi L’Amour (Bet Now: $SP.00) on top in the opener. John O’Shea trained filly that resumes, having not raced since the Spring when racing in a couple of strong maidens, where she got back and found the line pretty well without threatening. Given a good break, have loved the way she’s trialled and I do think she finds a very thin race.

Danger

1 Mystic Mermaid (Bet Now: $SP.00) can improver on a firmer footing for Chris Waller. She resumed on a Heavy274 at Newcastle and like most that meeting, struggled to pick the feet up so a total forgive when third. Back onto better conditions, upside to come in a leading camp, she can bounce back.

Long Shot

2 Desi Girl (Bet Now: $SP.00) should appreciate a rise in trip. Chris Waller trains this filly, who debuted over 1300m at Newcastle and stuck to the task quite well when third, racing like she wants more ground, which she gets here. Might want 1600m+, but suspect she’ll be strong late.

Race 2. (13:10) Ranvet Mdn Hcp 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

Market will be fascinating with 5 Taurasi (Bet Now: $SP.00), who resumes for Joe Pride. Hasn’t raced since his debut in the Kindergarten last year when fourth to Paulele, which clearly reads well for this. His trials have been nothing sharp, but Blinkers on, not worn in the trials, and hard in the market, tells me he’s done something at home with them on that has impressed.

Danger

6 Fearnought (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a beautifully bred filly for Chris Waller that resumes. Was around the mark in her first prep without winning, but the form around does read quite well. Just one soft trial leading in and bred in the purple, I’d assume they will aim at a potential blacktype if the form warrants it.

Long Shot

2 Frizzelle (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Vancouver filly on debut and I think watch the market with her. The breeding would suggest she will be better over slightly further, but has trialled well leading in and drawn soft with W Pike to steer, I think she’ll be quite strong at the end and is at good odds.

Race 3. (13:45) Drinkwise Mdn Plate 1100m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

14 Ultra (Bet Now: $SP.00) is worth an each way ticket. This filly resumed over 900m at Newcastle where she was chasing from the outset and loved the way she picked up late, just missing out on the win when a narrow second to Selhurst Park. Fitter and up to 1100m from the inside gate, she appeals as a leading contender.

Danger

8 Giancario (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a Pierro gelding for Mark Newnham that debuts. Drawn wide but at the 1100m start, that should be fine. Has trialled up super in readiness for start one and does appear to have early speed, so he can slide across, sit on speed and prove hard to beat.

Long Shot

4 Captain Kenny (Bet Now: $SP.00) has home track advantage and these runners on the home track at Warwick Farm should always be respected. He was smashed in betting when debuting at Gosford back in October when near the speed and just battled late. Given a good break, has trialled well leading in…if he remains double figures, I’ll have a speck.

Race 4. (14:20) Fujitsu General (bm72) 1300m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

4 Sindacato (Bet Now: $SP.00) has an engine under the hood. But upstairs, he has a few screws loose. That was clearly the case at his Australian debut so want to be forgiving of his effort behind Taksu. He has pretty strong NZ form next to his name and with C Waller as trainer, you’d think he will iron that out.

Danger

9 Dalaalaat (Bet Now: $SP.00) would love this track to dry out. He’s flying I think for Nathan Doyle but he can’t find a firmer deck. Has found Rosehill bogs in both runs back and has been solid but hasn’t been as effective as we know he can be. His best likely sees him go close to winning. Track condition will be vital.

Long Shot

7 Two Up (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a beauty for David Atkins but he is finding it hard to win. Ran as brave as ever at Rosehill three weeks ago in a Midway but was clearly no match for Tampering. He’s finding it hard to win, but is around the mark and finds a winnable race I suspect.

Race 5. (15:00) The Agency (bm64) 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

12 Camino Real (Bet Now: $SP.00) gets the node. James Cummings trained filly that hasn’t raced since her resumption at Wyong on February where she looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted in a dominant display. Trials since have been strong, gets J Mac to steer and has good change up speed. She’ll do me.

Danger

11 Vivid Flash (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a filly with talent for Chris Waller. Ran on a complete bog at Canterbury at the midweeks and she tried hard. Was hailed as the winner but was bloused late by American President. Drawn wide, but that’s no issue at this start and she’s hard fit/in form.

Long Shot

14 Shotgun Alli (Bet Now: $SP.00) is going to go around likely $101 but I can entertain her for wider multiples. Real eye catcher without luck fresh at Gosford before going to Scone where she failed to fire and was plain. Fresh legs and drawn soft, she’ll do no work and could pinch a first four spot.

Race 6. (15:40) Furphy (bm78) 1000m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

3 Atheric (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a three year old with good talent. Just found a bit sharp fresh over 900m at Newcastle before going to 1000m at Warwick Farm where he gave them a spanking under Bowman, bolting up in solid time. He showed promise in the Spring…is he fulfilling that potential now? Time will tell.

Danger

8 Satin Ribbons (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a sharp filly for Team Snowden that resumes. She did a really good job in the Spring, winning her first two runs for the prep before a game second to Dragonstone at Kembla on Gong Day. Trials leading in have been quite sharp, she’ll land on speed and prove hard to beat.

Long Shot

2 Broken Arrows (Bet Now: $SP.00) will be the first runner for David Pfiffer since returning. This horse is a very capable galloper and will love a firmer track. He hated the mud at Randwick last time and be forgiving of the effort behind Gravina. His best is good enough to be dangerous.

Race 7. (16:20) Grainshaker Vodka (bm64) 1200m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

Happy to speck 4 Green Flash (Bet Now: $SP.00) each way. He’s a talented animal that resumes for Chris Waller and returns to racing as a gelding. Last run came on December 17 when okay from the back behind High Court. Just one soft trial leading in but he’ll sit off the speed and launch at these late.

Danger

14 Democracy Manifest (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a very interesting runner. Formerly with Kody Nestor, this gelding now finds himself with Chris Waller. Talented horse, but I am stunned he is favourite. Two runs last prep, bolting up in a maiden fresh at Dubbo before a game second at Port Macquarie. Not denying he can win, but $2.50/thereabouts…surely not. Surely he gets towards $4.

Long Shot

7 Sabino (Bet Now: $SP.00) lacks the class of some of these but is hard fit and has a good racing style. Sat on speed at Scone on very testing ground last time out and battled away pretty well when third to Beholder. Drawn wide is fine for him, he’ll press forward and sure he’ll give a sight.

Race 8. (17:00) City Tattersalls Group (bm72) 1600m

* Above offers may only be available to select customers.

Back Me

12 Mahagoni (Bet Now: $SP.00) is a horse with talent for David Payne. Made his Australian debut in a Midway at Rosehill three weeks ago and he was one of the eye catchers of the meeting when closing off strongly behind Achira. Like him up in trip and he looks Saturday metro class. Not sure about the rest.

Danger

18 Za Ceibas (Bet Now: $SP.00) looks on track for a very good prep. Found a thin Class One at Hawkesbury fresh where she looked a good thing on paper and duly saluted, giving them a spanking and was strong at the end of 1500m, so the extra 100m with the run under the belt looks ideal.

Long Shot

5 Arnaqueur (Bet Now: $SP.00) is suited up in trip. Jean Dubois trained three year old that has been kept on ice, having not raced since a game effort over 1850m at Newcastle behind a handy stayer in Olympic Theatre. Tick over trial was good…he’s a quirky animal, but his best is good enough to be a first four threat.

BEST BET: Race One Number 6 Tavi L’Amour

NEXT BEST: Race Eight Number 12 Mahagoni

LONG SHOT: Race Seven Number 4 Green Flash
