UPDATE 5:32 am (2/9/22): Nearly six hours after a tractor-trailer crash shut down I-81 North in Botetourt County, VDOT tweeted at 1:08 am on Wednesday that all northbound lanes are back open at mile marker 156.
According to the Troutville Volunteer Fire Department, no serious injuries were reported in the crash.

VDOT continues to say that backups are reported at 3.5 miles.
Drivers will need to find an alternate route to avoid getting caught in the backups.
